What a wild ride!
I certainly was not expecting an innovative vampire story like this. Megan Erickson has quite a new and interesting take on vampires. It was refreshing to not have it be the same mumbo jumbo that we've all read a thousand times. For once this wasn't a "Once you've read one, you've read them all..." vampire books.
This is a fast-paced, easy read that any paranormal book lover will want to read. Tendra isn't your everyday nobody heroine. I love the sarcasm and smart mouth she's got on her. Reminds me of myself. Which is something I think we all look for when we read a book. Something to connect us to the characters. If you're a smartass and are sarcastic, this is a read for you!
Honestly though, there really were never any dull moments. Or those moments where you look to see how many more chapters you have. It takes you on a rocky road, but you won't be able to put it down. I'm not quite sure how many books are going to be in this series. But Megan has some big shoes to fill after this one.
