Ever The Brave ~ Erin Summerill

After saving King Aodren with her newfound Channeler powers, Britta only wants to live a peaceful life in her childhood home. Unfortunately, saving the King has created a tether between them she cannot sever, no matter how much she'd like to, and now he's insisting on making her a noble lady. And there are those who want to use Britta’s power for evil designs. If Britta cannot find a way to harness her new magical ability, her life—as well as her country—may be lost.

The stakes are higher than ever in the sequel to Ever the Hunted, as Britta struggles to protect her kingdom and her heart.

Given that I've seen quite a few bad reviews on this, I didn't have high hopes for it. Now, I feel I should state that I didn't read them. I just saw on my Goodreads feed that the star ratings people were giving it wasn't high.

My question for them is....were we reading the same book? I might go back and read them now.

This is without a doubt a really great sequel! The character growth is there, the world is expanding and new characters are being introduced. It has all the right key elements for a great book and in my opinion it went beyond that. You can actually see the authors growth in their writing. The world building and the pace outshined the first book.

I have to say there were a few moments where my "ship" preference was walking that thin line. If you read it, you know what I'm talking about. If you plan on reading it, you'll get it...just you wait. I had a few dark moments where I considered rooting for it. But I feel the right...no perfect choice was made.

This is a 5 Star Read!
